Cuban Fine Arts Academy talks Digital

Havana, Jun 20 (Prensa Latina) A dialogue between Academy and the universe of new technologies takes place in the exhibition Shot, opened here as part of the Ninth Salon and Colloquium on Digital Art.

Island daily life and anonymous faces are registered in pictures, sometimes abstract, others in a figurative style, which approach a kind of press reportage on social issues.

Thirty-four odd pieces form the exhibition, a result of a photo workshop carried out in the Academy San Alejandro by professor Jorge Luis Rodr¡guez with painting students in their second and third years.

Rodr¡guez defined the project as a collection of images close to the island´s reality, where the digital presence does not come from aesthetic superficiality but bets on creativity and divertimento.

Shot is added to the program of the event sponsored by the Cultural Center Pablo de la Torriente Brau, attended by representatives of Cuba and El Salvador.

The expo will remain open in the lobby of the movie theater 23 y 12 in the capital until next month.
